About Renée

Renée Ramsdell is a Fitness Trainer, Endurance Coach, and accomplished keto-adapted athlete. She is a 4-time Boston Marathoner, 70.3 Ironman and 100-mile Ultramarathoner.

Host of the Athlete Within interview series, Renée helps women experience better health and connection to their bodies through movement.

She believes that getting and staying fit is a unique and deeply personal journey, one that can (and should) be enjoyed on a physical, mental and emotional level. This approach shifts exercise from an ought to to a want to.

My Story

I was a child athlete. If my school offered a sport, I played it: Softball, Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, Field Hockey, Flag Football, Volleyball

I always enjoyed team sports but my true passion was Running. I grew up in the Boston area, so naturally I had dreams of becoming a Marathoner.

I ran my first marathon in 1998, but it wasn't long before I was plagued with stress fractures, knee surgery, a significant weight gain and loss, and a whole lot of rehabilitation.

I did eventually run 4 consecutive Boston Marathons beginning in 2014, but it was one hell of a rollercoaster ride to get there!

In the rehabilitation process I used Triathlon as cross-training (with the help of a great coach) to regain my fitness and mobility. And so my love for Endurance Racing was born!

Since then I've been blessed to set aside my bike & wetsuit and branch into Ultra Running, completing several 50 Kilometer to 100 Mile races.

My journey took a lot of unexpected twists and turns. It also inspired me to help other women begin or return to their fitness journeys.

"Stay in it!

The payoff is coming!"

My Vision

I believe we all have an Inner Athlete. Our bodies are perfectly designed to move, and move really well! Unfortunately, sometimes lifestyle, careers, families, illnesses and even the opinions of the people around us get in the way.

It doesn't have to stay that way!

Looking amazing is wonderful, but what would it feel like to be present in your own body? To appreciate her unique gifts and abilities? To be able to move around in your daily life with easy and confidence? To not only dream about, but actually experience what could be next for you?

Whether you want to reconnect with your Inner Athlete or meet her for the very first time, purposeful and methodical training can open up a world of possibilities. Are you ready?
